Regular releases

Hi everyone,

It’s very important that you know that from now on until chapter 100 or so, it will be non-stop cliffhanger. You can wait until chapter 100 is release to read in one shot or you can continue reading what we release weekly.

We are still in need of TL checkers who can help making sure translations are accurate.

Now, for the weekly recommendation… For novels, I don’t usually recommend something that doesn’t have much chapters translate, but, since the translator is known to be steady with translation and do finish their projects, I’ll recommend Eight Treasures Trousseau from the same author of To be a Virtuous Wife.

Once again, it’s a reincarnation/transmigration context. An actress died and found herself in the body of a di daughter who everyone thought was ugly and ridicule her because she was to marry the Emperor’s nephew who is known to be the most handsome man in the capital. And thus, the story begins…

You can see the same style of writing as in To be a Virtuous Wife, but the story is more details about the political conflicts than it was in TBVW.

That’s it for this week, see you next monday on Halloween.

Here it is! Regular releases!

Hi everyone,

I was a bit busy this week with NUF Halloween contest, so I didn’t tl-checked much. Now, that it’s done, I’m focusing on it. You will get more chapter of SSMD next week.

So this week’s recommendation is Cultivation Chat Group. It’s about a normal university student who got invited to a chat group by mistake. At first, he was reading the conversation in the chat group as source entertainment, not believing that the people in that group were cultivators. After a while, he discovered that everything was real and thus, he began to thread on the road of cultivation.

It’s a very funny novel that got you out of the usual modern xianxia cliché. It’s a good change of pace and the translated chapters are getting into the good parts.

You DARE to STEAL and REMOVE the credits and say the content is YOUR COPYRIGHT?!

Hi everyone!

I’m totally pissed.

A third party website copy and paste the translations which we work hard on and share with the public FOR FREE, and they DARE REMOVE OUR CREDITS and claiming the content is THEIR COPYRIGHT AND MAKING MONEY FROM THE TRAFFIC ON THEIR WEBSITE.

I don’t care if our translations is being share by third party, BUT DON’T YOU DARE REMOVE THE CREDITS. I’m someone who has been in the manga/anime community for years and I totally understand that people want to share things in readers and everywhere without asking permission to garner traffic and get money out of it. Fine, do it, but the TABOO about these sharing is REMOVING CREDITS.

You do that, you pissed me off and if you pissed me off, I’ll make it so that taking our website content will take you more time than it is worth it. I know how to be a troll!

I’m make my point clear by releasing an unedited and untlchecked chapter right now. I will not announced when I will re-edit that chapter, so, sorry readers, you will have to check it yourself.

So next time, whoever copy&paste our translations on third party website reader-ish type, they better KEEP THE CREDITS.

SSMD – Chapter 80

Thanksgiving releases!

Hi everyone!

We have some announcements.

First, we’re still searching for a TL checker to verify the accuracy of our translations. So, that person need to know Chinese and English. The task take less time compare to translating. If you’re interest, please contact us through Contact Form.

Since we don’t have another TL checker to help out and give me more time to translate, Record of Washed Grievances is dropped. We will be focusing on SSMD and Whispers. Well, it doesn’t change much for most readers since I’m sure most of you are already reading Sian’s translations of RoWG on Nutty’s blog, but, for me, it makes a huge difference in my schedule. Wait for around two months and you will feel the real impact of today’s decision.

A glossary has been add for SSMD. I tried to make it spoiler free, but there might be some minor spoilers.

Next, there will be two recommendations this week.

First recommendation is… Enchantress Amongst Alchemists: Ghost King’s Concubine (EAA). It’s quite similar to SSMD, but less dark and gory. It’s sweeter too. The main couple is a honeyed balm on my heart. You won’t be disappointed with the quality and release speed of that one since Miki, the translator of Child of Light (CoL), is doing it as her main project since CoL is completely translated since yesterday. If you can spot the chapters I TLC of EAA and comment here, I’ll release a chapter or two of SSMD tomorrow. Just a warning, those chapters might end with a huge cliffhanger. Choose wisely. Fufufu! ^_~

Second recommendation of the week is… the time-traveling drama based on Bu Bu Jing Xin by Tong Hua, Scarlet Heart: Ryeo. You will not be disappointed in the acting, the story flow and the plot. Well, I wasn’t. I might be subjective to Lee Joon Ki’s acting, but darn he is good. Don’t be afraid, it’s really not a copy of the chinese version of the drama, it’s much better. I like the fact that the romance is there and slowly built (no love at first sight), but the political context and struggles takes a lot more importance which make the main female character shined by her boldness. She also doesn’t need to be always save by her love interest, she can save herself.

That’s it! See you next monday!

Quick releases

Hi everyone,

I’ve been a bit busy last week, so I did not have any time to write a recommendation for this week.

Well, at least, this week releases will warm your heart considering how bloody the story has been for the past weeks in SSMD.

Notice : Still in need for TL-checkers. Contact us through contact form if interested.

See you next monday.

The unusual recommendation and monday releases

Hi everyone,

We’re still in search for Translation Checkers either for the main project or the side-projects. You need to have enough free time to TL checked around 3,000 to 4,000 chinese characters once per week which is the equivalent of one chapter of side project or 3-4 chapters of the main project. If you’re interest, contact us through the Contact Form.

Now, let’s start off the week with some regular releases and the recommendation I was hinting about last week.

Last monday, I mentioned about wanting to recommend something that was different from the usual novels, drama or music. What more, it’s a very useful recommendation. I got that recommendation from some of my colleagues who happen to be either in school, are returning to school or are parents. I try it myself to see if it was true.

I must say that it was quite fun and not boring at all. I even had fun exploring the website with my younger sibling. So, this week recommendation is the very easy-to-use, easy-to-understand and fun-to-use website, Khan Academy.

Yes, you guess it right! I’m recommending an absolutely free learning/educational website which aims to “provide a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere. -Khan Academy” The website content is translate into different language. The content in other languages are not as exhaustive as the english content which is based on US system. The french content is based on France system.

They are partnered with different institutions like NASA, MIT, The Museum of Modern Art and The California Academy of Sciences which allowed them to have a variety of subjects like Math, Physics, Music, History, Computer Science, Finance, etc. It’s NOT just high school’s or college’s contents. They have kindergarten math up to calculus and much more difficult math. That’s the reason why I got the recommendation from parents too.

What is really fun with Khan Academy is the so-not intimidating video length or text for learning and understanding the theory, and the energy points system and the badges system.

Unlike MIT open courses (also free, but content could be difficult to understand if you don’t have the prerequisite), you will not watch a record of a real class which could be almost an hour. The videos on Khan Academy are around 15 minutes or so. The way the theories are explained is easy to understand. You get the essential of what you need to learn. It’s also perfect to help revised quickly since you might not be able to get your teacher to teach anything if you’re revising during the night. You can ask question through comments box too.

As for the reward system, every time you master a skill (math skill or X subject theory) or complete mission or complete a course, you get energy points which unlock badges and achievements. This is something very fun and rewarding, especially for kids. For parents, they can view their kid’s progress by linking their Khan account to their kid’s account. Parents even have tips and videos on how to help and motivate their child to learn. You can also get a coach to help you learn. I can’t really talk much about it since I didn’t explore that coach function yet. In fact, there are others advantages and functions in Khan Academy which I have not yet explore, but I think this should be enough to give you an idea already.

That’s it for today. See you next monday!

Late Mid-Autumn Festival releases

Hello!

I’m a bit late for the Mid-Autumn Festival releases which was on September 15th. Work was quite hectic, but at least I was able to eat delicious mooncakes at work to sooth my anguish to return home and celebrating it with the whole family.

As usual, before we get to the releases part, here comes the weekly recommendation which was quite a dilemma. I was hesitating a lot between recommending another drama or something completely different from the usual. In the end, I decided to recommend a drama for this week. The “something completely different” will be for next week when I get to… err…explore it a bit more in depth. For a hint, it’s something useful and I heard a lot of good reviews about it from my colleagues.

This week recommendation is the drama “A Love Through a Millenium“. It’s a chinese drama from last year. For those of you who love time-traveling with romance, this is the drama you have to watch. In fact, it’s based on the popular korean drama “Queen In Huyn’s man“. I stress the “based on” since the premise is similar, but the story is not a carbon copy of the korean drama. In fact, it’s completely different as it goes on. You have to watch pass episode 2. This is my personal opinion, but the main female lead is annoying at first because of her weird acting in episode 1, but she get better as you watch. (I still prefer Yoo In Na’s acting.)

That’s it for today.

See you next monday.

Monday releases again…

Hi everyone!

Some changes are made to two names in SSMD for various reasons.

The Emperor (not the Chang Kong Country’s emperor) has been renamed as The Ancestor. It will be less confusing.

Ji Yunhuang’s sect, Ri Yue Sect, has been changed to Sun Moon Sect. You will understand why we made the change after reading chapter 52 of SSMD.

The corrections will be made to previous chapters during the coming week.

Next is… introducing our new editors for the side-projects : Sleepycatz and Tsubaki.

Sleepycatz is an enthusiastic reader who loves cat naps and mysteries.

Tsubaki is… Tsubaki. 😛

Note : I’m still recruiting TL checkers by the way.

This week recommendation is… Two Steps from Hell.

What the heck is that?

It’s not a new novel, a new drama nor a new movie. It’s an American production music company that specialized in movie and trailers music. But why would I recommend a production music company? You should listen to their music first and we’ll take after. 🙂

Dragon Rider

Heart of Courage

Ocean Princess

Undying Love

Of course, theses are not the best one, but it’s a good introduction. The thing that is quite fascinating with music is how it can make you travel without moving, inspire you while writing stories and help you daydream of a different life.

See you next monday!

Labor day’s releases and…

Hi everyone,

It’s already the first monday of september. We’re already in the later half of 2016. Time sure flies.

Recruitment notice : TL checkers for main and side-projects. If you know Chinese, want to contribute, but you have no time to translate, tl check is the task for you. If interest, please contact us through Contact Form. (When we have another tl checker, I will have more time to translate the side-projects)

For today’s post, except for the usual releases, what do I want to make you guys discover? How about we go with music this time? Something different from the usual pop music, rock, rap and R&B; Something like… fusion music.

What’s fusion music? The best way to describe it is to listen to the following videos.

Rising – Yoshida Brothers

Last minute – Oriental Express

Crazy Horse – Duplessy and the violins of the world

Paradise – Coldplay (african version) by The PianoGuys

The Arena – Lindsey Stirling

I find fusion music very interesting. It has so much variety and it always makes me wonder how can the combination of instrument A + instrument B which are usually used for X or Y type of music become something completely different when combine together.

I hope you enjoy discovering something new today.

See you on next monday.
